Shoshana's Monday belly dance class is at 7:45 to 9pm. The format is a different exciting mini workshop each week. We focus on topics like shimmies from around the world, classical Egyptian, modern Egyptian, Tribal, and ofcourse hips, hips, hips. I include veils and the lost art of finger cymbals.We then take those steps and become more challenging as the class progresses and we add layering to the steps so it's more challenging to the intermidate students. I will be working on my Nagwa Fouad inspired choreagraphy for the the next few months and I will be introducing new choreagraphy inspired by Samia Gamal, Nagwa Fouad and Suheir Zaki. We will be breaking down the technique as well.
Shoshana's beginner belly dance classes is an excellent introduction to the art of belly dance. It starts Tuesday June 3rd and Wednesday June 4th in Bayside at Queens Borough College. Go to classes for more details. She will be teaching all aspects of the dance including how to connect with the deep abdominal muscles that strengthen your core and help you to have more support for the lower back. We will also be working on dance routines and veils with an introductions to zills(finger cymbals). I suggest you buy about 2 yards of material for a veil and you can purchase beginner finger cymbals from me or at Barnes and Nobel. For more info on the class you can call Shoshana at 718 416-0457.
